Travel and dine

Tantris founder Fritz Eichbauer travelled a great deal. As a developer, he sought inspiration from architects around the world, preferably in the company of his wife Sigrid-Ursula. The young couple's travels in the 1970s were invariably accompanied by culinary excursions.

The Garden Salon

The site where Tantris DNA is now located was briefly home to the band "Los Paraguayos" in the late 1970s. At the time, the nightclub was the place to be to dance to Latin music over pisco sours. However, its doors soon closed in the cold of the Munich winter.
A sushi bar with Japanese guest chefs was initially envisioned to counter the space's tubular character. However, as the planning progressed, it became clear that we wanted to return to our roots with the garden salon concept: It was to be classic, French, à la carte.

The Wine Cellar

Over the past 50 years, wine has increasingly become the focus of culinary attention. Since then, it has also taken on a central role at Tantris. It is now given the same position in terms of space. Where Eckart Witzigmann used to stand at the grill, the wine cellar now shines: under the "eye" in the Tantris restaurant.

The Bar

The Bar Tantris has once again become the focal point of the house. The lamps are reminiscent of Verner Panton's "Spiegel" canteen in Hamburg, built at the same time as Tantris. Here, too, the idea was to reflect on the visions of the future during that period.

Tantris and Molteni

Tantris has always cooked on Molteni. The legendary gas stoves made to measure by the Molteni company in St. Uze outside Lyon belong to Tantris like the orange tiles in the kitchen. The first Molteni stove served in the Tantris kitchen for 40 years. Once again, the centrepieces in the kitchens of Tantris Maison Culinaire come from Molteni: In both Tantris and Tantris DNA, cooking is done on truffle-black Moltenis.
